Piyaphon Assawakarnjanakit (b. November 1992, Bangkok, Thailand) started saxophone lessons with  Mr. Worachet Woraputhinan when he was twelve. He then decided to embark on professional studies and attended the Young Artist Program and Undergraduate studies at the College of Music, Mahidol University where he took private lessons with Mr. Shyen Lee and Mr. Wisuwat Pruksavanich. He has also taken additional lessons with Lars Mlekusch, Timothy Roberts, William Street, Roger Greenberg, Jean Yves Fourmeau, John Sampen, Claude Delangle, and Jean-Marie Londeix

Assawakarnjanakit is engaged as a soloist and ensemble performer. He is currently the baritone saxophonist with the Poongizina Saxophone Quartet. The quartet won the 3rd prizes from Thailand International Wind Ensemble Competition 2012, the 2nd prize from the 14th Osaka International Music Competition, and had a performance at Nagoya University of Art in 2013 . He is also a member of the Salaya Saxophone Ensemble as a bass saxophonist which has performed throughout Thailand and in the Singapore Saxophone Symposium 2011. In 2014, Piayaphon Assawakarnjanakit became a semi-finalist in the 4th Jean-Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition to be one of only three Thai participants to do so in the history of the competition.
