Dr. Vanich Potavanich is music director and conductor of the Thai National Symphony Orchestra, Chaophraya Symphony Orchestra and Rangsit Symphony Orchestra. Guest Conductor of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra since 1995, Burapha Symphonic Band, Darthmouth College Wind Ensemble (USA), Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta, Kasertsart University Winds Symphony, Princess Galyani Vadhana Youth Orchestra, Mahidol Winds Symphony,Musica Sinfonietta (Penang Malaysia) and Thai Youth Orchestra.
He was selected to be Conductor for international music festival such as Asian Composer League conference and Thailand International Composition Festival. He has been invited as a judge for many music competitions.
Principal trumpet of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra form 1986. He graduated (BM, MM, DFA) from the Department of Music, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Vanich began his trumpet lesson at Wat Suthiwararam School (1982) and the Rotterdam Conservatory, in the Netherlands. He was be guest trumpet player with Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyushu Symphony Orchestra (Japan), Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Nusantara Symphony Orchestra (Indonesia). He had joy with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra on Busan, Kwangju, Seoul, Macau, London, Belfast, Dublin and Paris tours in 2003. And has been invited as a private teacher of Trumpet and Ensemble many universities also he gave master class around the country including international such as Malaysia, Beijing, Shenzhen, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong.
As a composer and arranger he has more than 400 arrangements and original compositions.
