Born in 1991 on the island of Menorca, he first started playing the violin and only later switched to the saxophone. He received his concert diploma with distinction at the Musikhochschule Köln
(Prof. Daniel Gauthier) and also a Master's degree in New Music (Prof. David Smeyers).
As a soloist, he has performed in concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Cologne
Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Monumental de Madrid.
Xavier Larsson has been awarded first prizes at national and international music competitions, such as Classic Winds International Festival 2016 (Germany), SaxoVoce 2016 (France), Intermusica 2014 (Austria), Michal Spisak 2014 (Poland), International Saxophone Competition Lodz 2012 (Poland), Concurso Permanente Jóvenes Interpretes Juventudes Musicales 2009
(Spain) and Certamen Nacional de Interpretación Intercentros Melómano 2008 categoria Professional (Spain). He is also a prize winner of the 3rd Jean Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition (Thailand).
He is a member of the Fukio Saxophone Quartet and the Trio SpiegelBild.
Xavier currently teaches at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Conservatori Superiordel Liceu (Barcelona).
