Xavier Larsson (b.1991) began his violin and saxophone studies in his hometown of Ciutadella de Menorca. He is a graduate with the Konzertexamen in the class of Daniel Gauthier at the University of Music in Cologne. He is considered one of the new generation of saxophonists with that is up and coming in Europe.

Currently he is the conductor of the Saxophone Ensemble at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona.

In January 2018, he will play as a soloist with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie conducted by Ingo Metzmacher at the Köln Philharmonie, Elbpnilharmonie in Hamburg and Musikverein in Vienaand Frankfurt Alte Oper.

Xavier won prizes at a number of international competitions, including  the Classic Winds International Festival 2016 in Köln/Bonn, SaxoVoce in Dreux, France (2016), the 10th Intermusica Competition in Birkfeld, Austria (2014), the 8th Michal Spisak International Music Competition in Dombrowa, Poland (2014),  2nd International Music Competition in Lodz (2012), the Critic's Prize of El Primer Palau in Barcelona (2012) and the Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Interpretes de Jeunesses Musicales in León (2009).

As a member of Fukio Ensemble, they won the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbeweb in Berlin (2014), the Karlsruher Wettbewerb für die Interpretation zeitgenössicher Musik(2014) and the Antonio Bertolini COOP Music Awards in Milan (Italy 2014). He is also a memeber of the SiegelBild Trio.

He has appeared on concert stages in Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Sweden, France, Germany, Rusia, Austria, England, Poland, Chile, Singapore and the United States.

Xavier Larsson is also the recipient of the Hezekiah Wardwell scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, from the Märkische Kulturstiftung in Lüdenscheid and of the Alfred Toepfer scholarschip in Hamburg. His debut recording Sax Time, produced in collaboration with the Jeunesses Musicales music competition and the Columna Musica record label with works by Denisov, Takashi Yohumatsu and Bruno Mantovani was released in 2012.
